The Weeping Arch of North Carolina

Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Bern, North Carolina, is home to a ghostly tale called “The Weeping Arch.” The old archway greets visitors as they pull onto the grounds, and over the years, it has grown into a legend.

After the arch was constructed many years ago, people began to notice small drops of water dripping from the structure. It always seemed that water droplets appeared whenever a funeral passed through the gateway. It was almost as if tears were falling, and soon, people began to say that it was as if the stone itself was crying for the deceased, earning it the nickname “The Weeping Arch.”

Like other ghost stories, the legend grew into something more sinister. It’s said that whenever a group of people walks through the gate, whoever is hit with a drop of water from the arch will be the next to perish.

Again, it’s probably a more logical explanation involved, but ghost stories are supposed to be fun.
