The 1998 Disappearance of Clemson University student Jason Knapp

Jason Andrew Knapp disappeared on April 12, 1998. Knapp was a sophomore at Clemson University when he went missing during that Easter weekend, 27 years ago. Knapp’s mother received the call that no parent wants to receive when Knapp’s college friends called to alert her that they hadn’t seen Jason all week.

Around a week later, on April 21, Knapp’s 1990 Chevy Beretta was found at Table Rock State Park, roughly 30 miles away from the Clemson University campus.

“Inside the car, authorities found a Park pass that had been bought between 3 and 5 p.m. on Easter Sunday, and tests later showed Jason’s fingerprints on the pass. Also inside the car were receipts from earlier in the day at a Wendy’s restaurant near his Central apartment and an Ingles grocery store in Seneca, where he had bought a six-pack of root beer and some fruit juice.”

A search ensued that covered an estimated 10,000 acres, but no clues were ever found.

Reportedly, his checkbook was found at his apartment, which had a considerable amount of money in his bank account, which was untouched. His suitcase and other personal belongings were still inside.

It was like Jason Knapp just mysteriously disappeared without a trace.
