Melanie had just moved into one of the townhomes between Alice Drive and Thomas Drive in Sumter, South Carolina, in 2000. She and her husband were getting the new place ready when items around the house began to go mysteriously missing. They would later reappear after some time, and for a while, Melanie did not think much of it. After all, how often do people lose a thing or two during a move?
But the hairs on her arms raised as she looked in her back bedroom, where scribbles of a child’s height lined the wall. Something was off as she and her husband lived alone and had no children.
Paranormal activity appears to be prevalent on Thomas Drive. Melanie had even witnessed a shadow figure in her home, and that was at the beginning of the street. Further down the road is a vacant lot that makes even the neighborhood dogs uneasy.
People have witnessed five to six men in tattered clothing hoeing a garden that has long since disappeared. They have been spotted during New Year’s festivities. Neighborhood dogs whine and bark as they stare directly at the lot, and no one is there.
Nobody knows who these figures are or why the road is reportedly a paranormal hotspot. However, the ghost stories continue to accumulate as the years pass.
