The Wreck of the USS Harvest Moon

The harbor in Georgetown is allegedly haunted by a stowaway slave who was hiding on board when the ship was struck and sunk in March of 1865 by a Confederate torpedo. According to online reports, the ship’s smokestack can still be seen today, and some claim that unearthly sounds of a tortured soul emanate from the sunken vessel. (Hammockcoastsc)
