One place in the Upstate of South Carolina has earned a reputation as the most haunted cabin in the state. The Shamrock House in Sunset is an eerie place at the bottom of Sassafras Mountain. Legend states that a younger woman tragically perished in the house after overdosing and drinking at a party. According to reports, she and two other girls were invited as entertainment for the night. After hearing from another partygoer that her devout religious father, who happened to be a preacher, was on his way to the house to take Nancy home, she ran upstairs, locking the door in fear. Nancy was able to calm her nerves a bit after partaking in a round of alcohol and a deadly concoction of pills. The young woman met her demise on May 13, 1927 (Friday).
Guests who have stayed in the big house have experienced footsteps, flickering lights, cold spots, and doors opening and shutting. Some believe a few other unwelcome visitors decided to stay for eternity and party with Nancy in the afterlife. It sounds like a spooky good time while deep in the woods with no place to run except into the deadness of night.
