The 1997 Cold Case of Stacey Brooke Holsonback

Holsonback was a freshman at Clemson University when she disappeared in February 1997. She was reportedly last seen on February 19 of that year when she went “mud-bogging” near Seneca, South Carolina, with two male friends or classmates, when the vehicle(s) they were in became stuck.

It’s alleged that Holsonback left on foot after the males began arguing, which would also be the last time that Stacey Holsonback would be seen alive.

Her body was discovered the next day by a construction worker in Lake Hartwell.

No arrests have ever been made in Holsonback’s death, and the case remains unsolved 28 years later.

Someone out there knows what happened to Stacey and how she ended up in Lake Hartwell on that winter’s day in 1997. If you have information as to what happened, you’re encouraged to contact the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at 864-638-4111
