One theater in Shelby, North Carolina, is said to be the home of a specter or two, depending on who you ask. The Rogers Theater opened in 1936, just three years before the Wizard of Oz premiered on the big screen in 1939. Today, the old historic building sits along the downtown street. But some believe the ghost of Tex still haunts the premises.
Tex was gainfully employed at the theater from the 1940s until he died in the 1960s.

A film crew recently shot a commercial from inside, when some strange happenings occurred, mainly with audio and batteries suddenly losing charge. Was it Tex playing games?
It seems he loved his job so much that his spirit decided to spend the rest of eternity trapped inside, keeping watch over it.
The Lantern focuses on niche markets within South Carolina but will travel to points in North Carolina for articles.
