The unsolved homicide of Marcus “Mark” Lee is the oldest unsolved or cold case in Oconee County, South Carolina. Lee was well-known in the community and owned a lawnmower and motorcycle repair shop beside his home. Mr. Lee’s home was near the intersection of Richland Road and North Seed Farm Road in Westminster.

According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, “On that December night, Lee was severely beaten during a robbery at his home, according to Oconee County Sheriff’s Deputies, suffering a traumatic head injury. It does appear that robbery was the motive, and deputies say they have reason to believe that Lee knew his assailant or assailants. The Sheriff’s Office had suspects that they were interested in at one time, but many of the leads have dried up. The Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help.”
Like the many others I have written about, someone knows something.
