Prospect, Kentucky, not far from Louisville, is home to a ghostly tale of a phantom hearse. Some believe satanic rituals took place here during the 1970s and early 1980s, but I have not been able to verify those claims.
However, people who have traveled up this lonely road have encountered a phantom hearse or a long black car that suddenly appears in a driver’s rear-view mirror at night. The vehicle appears to be closing in, forcing the driver to accelerate to avoid being rear-ended. Slowly, the ghost car pulls alongside the other vehicle and tries to force it off the road.
According to legend, some drivers are believed to have run off the road to the afterlife.
