Malik Padgett was a 15-year-old high school student who was enjoying his spring break in April 2013 in Greenwood, South Carolina.
Malik was an intelligent young man with a bright future ahead of him. In an instant, all of that changed because of a criminal with a gun. That person is still walking free, and Malik Padgett deserves justice.
Padgett was attending a large birthday party on Tabor Street when he was killed. Malik was one of five people who were shot. The other four victims survived, but unfortunately. Malik passed away.

According to a Fox Carolina article dated April 26, 2023, “Malik’s mother Latarsha Padgett said he was “exceptional.” She said he was lovable and kind, someone who was willing to catch and gut fish to feed elderly neighbors. He was a computer whiz who, even as a child, enjoyed taking apart his toys and putting them back together.”
According to an article in the Index Journal, “There were about 100 people, if not more, around the night 15-year-old Malik Padgett was killed – 100 people who could surely help lead law enforcement to the person, or people, responsible for his death. But that hasn’t been the case for the Padgett family.
Someone knows who that person is and can help bring closure to Malik’s mother and family; maybe that person is you.
