The Unsolved Homicide of Calvin Lamont Parker in Greenwood, SC

On November 2, 2006, a 911 caller found Calvin Lamont Parker lying on the floor of his bedroom around 8:30 p.m. Two unknown assailants had shot Parker at the time. Parker told police he had heard a knock on his front door. When Parker opened the door, he was hit by one of the two men.

He recognized one of the men, but was unable to give authorities a description before EMS arrived to treat him.

Unfortunately, he died while receiving treatment that night.

A witness spotted two men running from the area after the shooting, getting into a small silver four-door vehicle parked at a nearby gas station.

Twenty-one years later, Parker’s case remains an open cold case in Greenwood, South Carolina.

Someone knows who fired that fatal bullet and who the responsible parties are.

Anyone with information on any of Greenwood’s homicides is asked to call law enforcement at 911 or police detectives at 864-942-8407.
