The Hound of Goshen is a legendary Ghost Dog that haunts a five-mile stretch of Old Buncombe Road, which runs through Sumter National Forest in Union and Newberry Counties in South Carolina. Many origins of this story exist.
One goes, the hound belonged to a traveling salesman who passed through the area and was accused of stealing by locals. The man was given a sketchy trial and hanged near a cemetery and church on this highway. His best friend and traveling companion, the dog, is said to have starved to death while waiting by the grave of his master. Anger and disappointment drive his rage as he chases down people who cross his path.” The Hound of Goshen is one of the oldest recorded supernatural occurrences, dating back to the 1840s in the state.

The image below is an actual photo of the Hound of Goshen, and to date, the only proof of the legend. I will be giving the pictures to the Union County Museum in the future. To my knowledge, this is the only photo captured of the legend.
