The Ghost Bride of Cumberland Falls

Cumberland Falls is a beautiful area in southeastern Kentucky, near Corbin, but it also has a reported ghostly bride that’s said to still walk the trails. In the 1950s, a young couple, recently married, honeymooned at Cumberland Falls State Park. Since the night was still young, they decided to take a stroll after checking into their suite.

The couple still had their wedding clothes on, hoping to find the perfect place to snap a photo.  As they approached a point known as The Pillars, they stopped to capture the view. The groom helped his wife onto a ledge overlooking a massive drop. He began to photograph her as she posed and danced.

Unaware of her surroundings, she lost her balance and plummeted into the rushing waters below.

Ever since, people have reported seeing a beautiful woman dressed in a wedding dress roaming the narrow footpaths and, in the curve, leading to the park. Some even suggest that she has been seen walking the dreary corridors of the nearby lodge.
