We go from the Lady in Black to the Lady in White at the old City Cemetery or the City Cemetery on Tazewell Avenue in Roanoke, Virginia.
The legend states that a “real Southern beauty” died in 1918 and is buried on the grounds. It’s said that she comes out at night and weeps on a ledge near the Greenwood plot. She is dressed in a white dress, with a pompadour hairstyle.

The woman weeps because she died of influenza, leaving her small children motherless.
