Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina, dates back to 1891 and has earned quite a reputation for its legends and tales. This place has everything from mysterious and ghostly lights in P.E. Monroe Auditorium to the Mauney Music Building, where ghostly footsteps can be heard.
Another tale that seems to have some legs is the “Ghost of the Crying Boy” at the Carl A. Rudisill Library. Many have claimed online to have seen his apparition. Some believe Schaeffer Hall is haunted by an elderly lady who makes bed checks on the second floor.
College campuses seem to be paranormal hotspots.
