Is Pegram, Tennessee, Cursed

It’s not every day that we hear of cursed cities or even towns, but one place in Tennessee is alleged to be cursed. If the Pegram is indeed cursed, the strange happenings may stem from a cemetery in that town.

According to an article by WKRN in 2017, there used to be a cemetery where a current subdivision now sits. The homes were built in 1970, but only some of those graves and headstones were moved; not all of them.

Additionally, the dirt that was excavated from the site was sold throughout the town, as fill dirt and for other purposes. This means that the cemetery grounds are spread all over the county.

Some believe that is where the problems began.

The same news article indicated that the impacted subdivision is called Harpeth Haven. Another search on another site stated the river rose over 30 feet in 1975, and a coffin containing the body of Carrie Pegram Heath, the first postmistress of Pegram, surfaced in a yard.

In the same WKRN article, people believe that trains being stuck on the track next to Highway 70 are the work of spirits. People are not allowed to leave the neighborhood to go to work or anywhere, because of the trains. Numerous floods and a fire destroyed the only grocery store in that town, which is also attributed to the gravesites being disturbed.
