Lake Tahoma, located in the mountains of Western North Carolina, near the town of Marion, is said to have an urban legend associated with it. It states that if you go to the dam, you will see the apparition of a woman standing on top of it. Another says that if you place your keys on the hood and walk around your vehicle, the keys will mysteriously move.
The story has evolved over the years, but in May 1940, an accident did occur here, lending some credibility to the claim.
