The Carolina Inn, located at 211 Pittsboro Street in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, opened in 1924 and is rumored to be haunted. One of the resident specters, believed to walk the halls still, is Dr. William Jacocks, who lived in room 256 in 1965.
I called the inn, and the person I spoke with, who has been gainfully employed at the Carolina Inn for three years, has never experienced anything paranormal. However, she informed me that others have reported strange things.
