Serial Killer Scott Wilson Williams: The Monster Amongst Us

Convicted serial killer, Scott Wilson Williams, known as “The Union County Serial Killer,” was born on December 3, 1963, in Monroe, North Carolina. Williams seemed to have lived an ordinary life as a highway worker at the North Carolina Department of Transportation, who resided in a mobile home situated virtually in his mother’s backyard.

Even to law enforcement, the 42-year-old Williams was the most unassuming of men, with no prior criminal record.

But something snapped inside of Williams that would forever see him convicted for the murders of three women that took place over a period of nine years.

The body of Sharon Stone was discovered by a man picking up cans. Initially, nothing drew the attention of law enforcement to Williams. In connection with Sharon Stone’s murder, Williams was identified as an acquaintance of the deceased woman.

In all, three victims would die at the hands of Williams. On March 9, 2006, Scott Wilson Williams was arrested at 1:30 a.m. for the deaths of Sharon Stone and two others, Parker and Pressley. During the course of the interview with Williams, it was determined that all three had been shot in the head, and law enforcement found that Williams also knew Parker and Pressley.

The cases were investigated by the Union County, North Carolina, and Chesterfield County, South Carolina, Homicide Task Forces, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI.

On July 18, 2008, Williams was sentenced to three consecutive terms of life without parole. Also, he entered pleas to charges of first-degree kidnapping, rape, and sexual offenses against two other women.  He died in prison on August 6, 2022.
