Some believe that this road is the most haunted roadway in Pennsylvania. According to many, Kelley or Kelly, depending on the source, also known as “Mystery Mile” in Ohioville, is said to have a sinister nature. The tale dates back many years, when a couple took a carriage ride.
Something along the route spooked the horse, and the carriage flipped over, breaking the woman’s neck instantly. The husband found himself trapped under the wreckage. Slowly, the man began to cry, begging for help, but no one would answer. His cries for help went unanswered, and he slowly perished.
It is said that at night, if you travel down Kelley Road, you can hear the noise of a carriage flipping and hear a man scream for help, but when you reach the spot, you will find nothing.
