Sean Patrick Goble was born on November 1, 1966, in Asheboro, North Carolina. The Goble family eventually moved to Illinois; however, Sean would end up living with his mother and sister after his father was arrested on multiple charges of assault.
Sean Patrick would attend Auburn High School in Rockford, but he later dropped out in 1984 during his senior season and enrolled in the army. He would later marry and father a son, and even move back to Asheboro, where he began working as a truck driver in 1991.
Life seemed to be going well for Goble at the time, but something within Goble snapped, which eventually earned him the infamous nickname, The Interstate Killer.
Goble and his wife would soon separate and move in different directions in late 1991. After the divorce, Goble remained in the trailer park in Asheboro, piecing his life back together, hitting the open road in his semi.
In January 1994, Goble picked up Lisa Susan O’Rourke, a 29-year-old native of St. Louis, Missouri, along Interstate 10 in either Louisiana or Mississippi. The two engaged in sexual relations before Goble strangled her to death, dumping her lifeless body under a bridge along Interstate 65 in Alabama.
Goble’s second known victim was Bloomington, Indiana native, Brenda Kay Hagy, aged 45. Hagy was known to have a criminal past with trespassing and prostitution, and was known to be vagrant, moving across the east side of the country, seeking refuge in homeless shelters. On January 22, 1985, Hagy left a shelter in Gainesville, Florida, and traveled to Tennessee, where she was abducted by Goble at a gas station. Goble raped and strangled Hagy, breaking her neck in the process. He later dropped her body off along Interstate 81 in Bristol, Virginia, driving over her legs in the process of leaving the scene. Her body was found the next day.
The third victim was Sherry Tew Mansur, who had a long history of arrests for prostitution. Mansur was last seen alive on January 31, 1995, while visiting relatives in Bowie, Maryland. She would leave the next morning and would be picked up by Goble.

Sherry Tew Mansur, 34, had a history of arrests for prostitution from 1982 to 1994.[11] She was last seen alive by friends and family on January 31, 1995, while visiting her sister in Bowie, Maryland. She left the residence the next morning and was picked up by Goble around Fredericksburg, Virginia. Like the other two known victims, the pair had sex, and Goble strangled her to death, exposing her body along Interstate 40, where she was found on February 19.
The last known victim was 36-year-old Alice Rebecca Hanes, who hitchhiked from Kansas to Tennessee, where she was kidnapped by Goble from a gas station. The woman was smothered to death and dumped along Interstate 81 in Virginia.
Goble was also suspected in other murders across the Southeast. He was arrested in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, in 1995 and is currently serving life in prison.
