The story goes that many years ago, a couple traveling along the highway between Johnson City and Erwin, Tennessee, suddenly broke down as they exited the highway at Okolona Road.
The man decided to get out and push the vehicle up to the highway, so that it could be seen by other local travelers looking to lend a hand to assist them in their time of need.

Out of nowhere, either a car or a tractor-trailer slammed into them, killing both in the collision.
Since that day, it’s said that anyone who comes down that exit can stop, put their vehicle in neutral, and it will begin to roll backwards up the hill, as if someone is pushing it.
Some say that if done long enough, the car windows become foggy, and you can see the handprints of the man in the windows.
