This South Carolina Lowcountry Train Trestle is Home to an Axe-Wielding Ghost

Jedburg is a small community in the lower part of South Carolina, off Interstate 26, near Summerville, and home to a ghostly tale.

A Ghost With a Scarred Face Wielding an Axe is Said to Haunt the Grounds

.

In the book Ghosts of the Pee Dee, on page 55, Tally Johnson recounts the tale of the haunted railroad trestle located just off U.S. Highway 78, which is said to be home to two specters believed to be connected.

Supposedly, a murder happened in the 1950s at the old depot in Jedburg or possibly earlier. Two cousins engaged in an argument over a hat, with one receiving a lengthy prison sentence while the other wore the brunt of an object in his face, killing him and dumping his body over the side of this trestle.

Today, two spirits are visible here. The first is a glowing white figure who moves in unison with the observer, and the other is a man dressed in bright-colored clothing with a scarred face, carrying an axe or hatchet.
