The Ghostly Tale of NoDa Jim

The ghostly tale claims that a train along the railroad tracks supposedly struck a man. The man called Jim used to work on the railroad in the NoDa neighborhood in Charlotte. Jim used to wear big keys on his side. One night, a buddy from Jim approached him for a round of drinks after a long week of working on the rails. Jim lost his keys while playing cards and partaking in a bit of boozing. His buddy, Edwin, decided to grab some lanterns to help him find his keys, but a train killed him instantly as Jim tripped on the tracks.

People have said you can see people walking around with lanterns late at night. If you walk through this area and hear the keys jingle, it’s just old Jim letting you know that he found his keys and is headed to finish his wine.
