Reedy Falls is a beautiful park and place in downtown Greenville. Years ago, Chicora College for Women operated a campus on the west side of the river before it moved to Columbia around 1915.
The Greenville College campus spanned sixteen acres, stretching from Camperdown Street to River Street.

In 1904, a newspaper article mentioned a down-on-his-luck gentleman who worked in the financial industry who reportedly jumped from one of the building windows on campus. Thanks to the South Carolina Room at the main branch of the Greenville Library System, located at 25 Heritage Green Place, I was able to research and find the article.
They called the apparition the Chicora College Ghost, but no details are known, as this was the only information that has been written.
A historical marker now sits in the area to offer visitors a glimpse into Greenville’s past.
