Adluh Flour Company: Don’t TOUCH MY cart (Haunted Columbia)

Adluh Flour Company is one of the most famous and recognizable landmarks in Columbia, South Carolina. The company was launched in 1900 and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, featuring its distinctive sign and grain elevator. But the building is also rumored to be haunted by an ex-employee, who is owed millions in overtime pay.

Jerome Busbee worked for the company for many years and was alleged to be a practitioner of voodoo. His daily job duties included moving fifty-pound flour bags from the sewing area to the warehouse on his preferred cart.

Mr. Busbee passed away in the mid-1900s, but his spirit never left the premises. His work cart became anchored to the floor in the same spot Jerome left it for eternity. While many have tried to move it through the years, the cart remains unmoved. People have experienced an odd feeling in the immediate area near the cart, questioning why the cart won’t budge. They were told by others at Adluh that Jerome didn’t want the cart going anywhere, and his spirit was holding it in place.
