Sumter appears to be a paranormal hotspot, with several stories of apparitions still roaming the grounds of the county today.
One story is from Stamey Livestock Road, where five Air Force airmen who went out for a little boozing action in the 1980s, drank too much, and ran into Booth’s Pond. Two of the men met their demise by drowning. Several weeks later, the other three men, distraught over their deaths, committed suicide in a barn at the beginning of the dirt road.

Online sources report that at night, you can see three men coming down the road, walking in the direction of the barn and entering it, but never emerging.
If a site is located on private property, you must obtain permission from the property owners to visit.
All ghostly activity is considered alleged.
