This Haunted Road and Tunnel in Tennessee will Drive Your Soul Mad.

Sensabaugh Tunnel was built in the early 1900s in Church Hill, Tennessee, near Kingsport. Many legends surround the tunnel and the road with the same namesake. According to legend, a homeless man broke into the Sensabaugh home, kidnapping a child, before being chased into the tunnel by the father. Unfortunately, the unthinkable happened, and today screams, cries, and other sounds are heard from inside.

Other folklore says a woman was driving through the tunnel when her car broke down. She exited the vehicle to retrieve help. As you might expect, the woman was never heard from again.

Another story tells of a young pregnant woman who gave birth inside after being chased. The young mother gave birth to the child before dying soon afterward.

Different versions of the story exist about why this place is so haunted.

Outside of the horrifying sounds heard, a ghostly woman is said to appear in your backseat if you try to drive through the tunnel. Others claim that if you drive into the tunnel and turn your car off when in the middle, you won’t be able to restart it.

Although the people associated with the hauntings are long gone from the physical world, their spirits remain trapped here, seeking help.
