The Anderson Municipal Business Center, located at 601 South Main Street, opened in August 2008. Less than a year later, the building captured national attention in June 2009 after images were caught on camera of objects moving around in the Anderson Credit Union Office. A white blur appeared on video, floating around the room and returning night after night.
While the building may be newer, the history of the premises dates back to the 1800s, when a large estate called Echo Hall occupied the property belonging to J.P. Reed, a prominent judge and former mayor of Anderson. In 1890, a man named P.E. Stevens built a carriage shop on the site, which later became the location of a Sinclair Service Station.
Others have reported hearing odd sounds after hours, including knocking and sounds of furniture being moved.
