Is this Wilmington, North Carolina Library Haunted

Similar to something from the Ghostbusters movie, a library in Wilmington, North Carolina, is allegedly haunted by many former visitors. Judging from how frequently people see her pop up in different places throughout the Hanover County establishment, it’s safe to say she has visited the place quite often. From phantom steps to physical books mysteriously moving from one place to another, this particular library seems to be a place that not only entertains the living but also the dead!

The Hanover library offers a variety of amenities, including games, gardens, and a life-size chessboard. But there’s a twist: The disembodied female seen popping in and out of our world isn’t alone. She seems to have made friends. If you frequent the library enough, you might see two additional ghosts. It is believed that one victim died on his property, which is where the library currently sits today. Although we don’t know much about the man, legend says he suffered a gunshot wound from losing a duel. If you happen to catch an elderly bearded man walking around the library in 19th-century clothing, you’ve found him.

The third ghost is also a man, but he’s younger, standing on whichever side of the aisle you could be in the middle of. People don’t see this one very often, but he tends to grab the attention of the ones who notice him. All three spirits are responsible for the sounds of books turning pages without anybody physically being around, loud footsteps in different rooms, and even unlocking cabinet doors!

If you want to work at the library, you should know that sometimes the names of the employees are called out by the specters. So be aware that the three come with the job as an added perk. If you’re in the area, don’t forget to visit the North Carolina Room. It’s where all of their local history is stored. You might find out why these three spirits are here.
